Performance as a Standard: Engineering vmagueta.run

In 2026, "it works" is the bare minimum. In high-scale infrastructure, the only metric that truly separates the seniors from the juniors is efficiency. ⚡️

My name is Victor, and I’m a Software Engineer focused on building and scaling backend ecosystems for Global Luxury Houses. When your code powers the digital presence of some of the world's most iconic fashion brands across Europe, US, and APAC, every millisecond in the pipeline is a liability.

The Philosophy: Why Marmite? 🦀

I didn't choose Marmite because it was easy. I chose it because it aligns with my technical philosophy: Rust-driven, minimalist, and statically optimized.

In an era of bloated web frameworks, I prefer the "Zero-Cost Abstractions" approach. This blog is a reflection of the same standards I’m bringing to high-stakes production environments:

  • Python 🐍 for the core logic and flexibility.
  • Rust 🦀 for the heavy lifting (like our recent migration to uv).
  • Ansible & K8s ☸️ for global orchestration and reliability.

🛠️ What You’ll Find Here

This isn't a "Hello World" blog. It's a technical log from the trenches of Platform Engineering. Moving forward, I’ll be sharing deep dives into:

  1. Optimizing CI/CD: How we slashed deployment times by 80%.
  2. Rust-powered Tooling: Why the future of Python development is being rewritten in Rust.
  3. Infrastructure at Scale: Hard-earned lessons from managing global deployments.

I'm not here to document a "learning journey." I’m here to share the engineering standards that drive real-world production at scale.

The site is live. The pipelines are green. Let’s ship. 🚀
